Proform 700 Review

The Proform 700 Elliptical is a pretty good machine for the price. This economical Elliptical Trainer does not include a whopping number of features, but it serves the basic tasks needed for aerobic conditioning. Now, don't get me wrong - the Pro Form 700 does come with a few nice features, including a pulse detector on the grip, six pre-programmed work-out routines and an adjustable belt for different resistance levels. The Pro form 700 work out trainer has a 15” wheel base which is a little bit smaller than most your average cross trainers or Elliptical Machines. One odd thing about this machine is that it does not come with an a/c adapter for a wall plug in. The Pro Form 700 only requires four D-Sized batteries to run. Convenient, huh? Some users reported a slight rubbing noise which can be heard in the rotor after it's running a while; quite possibly this is from the belt hitting something against the frame. This elliptical machine is made fairly cheap as are most low-budget exercise machines and it kind of shows in the ride quality. It’s not the smoothest of elliptical trainers, but it serves the purpose of an entry level cross-trainer workout machine and it won't be too hard on your knees and back.

Is the Proform 700 Still Available?

If you are in stores looking for one of these machines you probably won’t find one due to the fact that the ProForm 700 has been discontinued. Otherwise, if you have a low budget and need something right away, you can find these on eBay, Craigslist, etc. The Proform 700 Elliptical is in the cheaper price bracket; starting under $500. You can probably find it much cheaper on eBay new or used. The Pro Form 700 is a pretty good little machine for the money. If you are a serious work-out enthusiast such as myself then I would probably save my money towards some of the other pricier Proform Elliptical Models that' I've reviewed on these pages. That doesn't mean you can't get a serious workout with the Proform 700 Elliptical Machine, it just means that your tastes might be geared towards spending a little more money. On the other hand, if you are looking for your first elliptical training machine and need something affordable and cheap, the Pro Form 700 probably has everything you need and will put you on the right path to a healthier life style.
